Designing Wedding Invitations

Today I was designing my wedding invitations. Mike and I had a photoshoot with an amazing photographer Brian Rennick. We used PagePlus software from Serif. It is an amazing program. My colors are yellow and white. I wanted this colorscheme for the invitations. Notice there is a little bit of orange in them more of the warm colorscheme in the search results. I found that by going to google.com and then typing in 'yellow orange wedding invitations'. Then I clicked on 'images' so that I would be able to see my search result in picture format. My inspiration for the wedding is mismatched yellow bridesmaid dresses as pictured on the side. We desided on a fold up design so that would require quarters; top, inside 1, inside 2, and bottom. This is a useful link from http://www.jansreadingroom.com/Cards/Q-Fold-Label-Cards.htm on making home-made invitations. It has lots of pictures so that you can create your own. That is the format we used but we used it on PagePlus software.

We put our favorite photo, from the photo shoot with Brian, on our cover. On the back we added 2 photographs and on the inside left slot we used 2 photos as well. We chose to use a lot of shots in the invites but you can leave the inside left slot blank. On the inside right cover we put our invite text. Here is how to find sample text for invites: go to google.com, type in "wedding invitations", click 'images' and see what other people wrote and make your text fit your occasion, names, date, time and place (or just click here). To make it easier to find invitations that you like, write your color/s in front of the search words: e.g. "yellow wedding invitations". This way you will see what you like and your search results will more closely resemble what you are picturing in your head. Don't fortget to put a phone number for R.S.V.P.

Good luck on making your wedding invitations. I will post our invitations when they are completed.

  1. Hey, I got your thank you card. Sorry I couldn't sing for your wedding because of lack of equipment. I will need to make that up to you at an anniversary or something. Congratulations on the coming baby. Where are you living now?? - Aaron Cermak
